1850-D $5 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. XF. Variety 24-P. The 1850-D Liberty half eagle is the third rarest D-mint issue of the series, from a mintage of 43,984 pieces. The surviving population is thought to number between 110 and 120 pieces in all grades. This specimen shows the "Weak D" mintmark, with extensive peripheral die cracks.(Registry values: P3) (NGC ID# 25U3, PCGS# 8245)
