Bold Low-Mintage 1869 Half Eagle, AU50

1869 $5 AU50 PCGS. The 1869 Liberty Head half eagle is among the lowest-mintage issues of the entire series, with only 1,760 business strikes produced. Only a couple of Mint State pieces are known, and the average certified survivor grades only Choice XF or thereabouts. This piece displays wonderful semiprooflike surfaces with attractive orange-gold coloration and a bold strike, certified in a green-label holder.
