Description:
Uncommonly High Grade 1875-S, AU50 NGC
1875-S $5 AU50 NGC. The 1875-S Half Eagle had an original production of only 9,000 pieces, and the relatively few survivors are apt to show extensive circulation; most surviving specimens grade from VG to VF. This uncommonly high grade example displays an even apricot-gold patina and traces of luster in the recessed areas. The design elements are well defined, and the few minute marks scattered about do not distract.(Registry values: P3) (NGC ID# 25WV, PCGS# 8338)
