Description

1892-CC Half Eagle, MS64
The Finest PCGS-Graded Specimen

1892-CC $5 MS64 PCGS. Variety 1-A. There is only one known die variety for the 1892-CC half eagles, used to coin 82,968 pieces, a substantial mintage for one pair of dies. The reverse die was only used for the 1892-CC half eagles, making no appearances in adjacent years. This Choice Mint State piece is a splendid specimen and it is the finest that PCGS has certified. In fact, it is the only MS64 seen at that service (3/13). NGC has seen two similarly graded pieces and only one finer coin. A lovely specimen, this half eagle has brilliant light yellow luster with traces of orange overtones on the obverse and additional pale blue on the reverse. Here is the ultimate PCGS certified 1892-CC half eagle for the connoisseur.(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 25Y7, PCGS# 8380)
