Rare Gem 1901/0-S Coronet Half Eagle1901/0-S $5 MS65 PCGS. A wonderful example of this overdate issue, and one of the finest seen. The undertype 0 in the date is clearly defined along the upper right side of the second 1. Apparently the engraver was able to partially efface the 0, enough so to use this obverse die. Discovered in 1973 by Ted Clark, and widely publicized since that time. Considerably difficult to obtain in Gem grades, the present coin should delight the successful bidder for its radiant luster and well struck devices. Examination will find a scattering of ticks, and a thin die crack from the point of bust to the first star, which reappears through a couple of stars on the left. Population: 9 in 65, 2 finer (3/06).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 25YX, PCGS# 8403)
