1852 $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS. CAC. This sharply detailed near-Gem example displays satiny mint luster and attractive bright gold and orange-gold surfaces. The survival rate was low for high-grade specimens despite the large quantity of 1852 quarter eagles produced, nearly 1.2 million pieces. Population: 40 in 64 (1 in 64+), 12 finer (9/12).(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 25HR, PCGS# 7763)
