1860-C $2 1/2
The 1860-C quarter eagle is a popular issue because of its status as the final quarter eagle produced at the Charlotte Mint and, of course, the only one dated in the 1860s. There are approximately 100 or so known with most of these well worn. It is a rare coin at any level of AU and very rare in the higher range of this grade. We are aware of just 3 Mint State 1860-C quarter eagles, including an NGC MS 63 that we sold to a collector a few years ago. (NGC ID# 25JT, PCGS# 7792)
