One of 24,000 Pieces Struck
1861-S $2 1/2 AU58 NGC. Well struck for its low-mintage issue, if slightly soft on the devices, with low-key yet intense sun-gold luster that veers into orange at parts of the fields. Only modestly rubbed but with shallow pinscratches in the right obverse field. Housed in a prior-generation holder. Census: 21 in 58, 6 finer (9/10).(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 25JY, PCGS# 7795)
