Description:
Lightly Toned 1878 7 TF Reverse of 1879 Dollar
MS66 Prooflike, the Finest Certified
1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1879 MS66 Prooflike PCGS. Ex: Lee 1/Jack Lee 2 Collection. The 1878 7 Tailfeathers issue was struck in two major reverse variations: the Reverse of 1878, with parallel top arrow feather, and the Reverse of 1879, with slanting top arrow feather. The current Premium Gem consists of the latter reverse. Soft tan-gold and rose patina covers both sides, each of which has been well cared for. A precise strike emboldens the design features. This is the single finest certified example of the '78 7 Tailfeathers 1879 Reverse with Prooflike finish.
