Description:

1885-CC Silver Dollar, MS67
Lowest Mintage CC Morgan
1885-CC $1 MS67 PCGS. CAC. The Carson City Mint produced 228,000 Morgan dollars in 1885, and that was the lowest annual production of these coins at that Mint. However, nearly all of those coins were stored in Treasury vaults for many decades, and today, the 1885-CC is one of the more available dates in the series. Today, the 1885-CC is the fifth most available CC Morgan, based on the total number of PCGS grading events, with more than 21,000 certified by that service alone. The four more plentiful dates are easy to guess: 1878, 1882, 1883, and 1884. Despite the large population, only one finer piece is PCGS certified. This Superb Gem has frosty surfaces with full brilliance and no evidence of toning. It is a virtually perfect specimen for the connoisseur. Population: 51 in 67 (1 in 67+), 1 finer (2/13).(Registry values: P4, N2998) (NGC ID# 254S, PCGS# 7160)
