Description:
Gem 1894-S Morgan Dollar
Lightly Toned Conditional Rarity
1894-S $1 MS65 NGC. The Gem level is the highest grade seen -- albeit infrequently -- for the 1894-S Morgan dollar, a grade level where the issue is quite popular and the subject of strong bidding activity. This silver-white piece is frosty with a hint of gold patina, the surfaces showing a few luster grazes consistent with the grade but no mentionable marks. The strike is adequate save for the hair over the ear, where some roller marks appear. A conditional rarity in the Morgan series. Census: 42 in 65, 9 finer (1/13).(Registry values: P6, N2998) (NGC ID# 255X, PCGS# 7232)
