Lightly Toned, Eye-Appealing 1921-S Dollar, MS66
1921-S $1 MS66 PCGS. Ex: Jackson Hole. The keen-eyed observer will note a slight tinge of pastel blue on the obverse, complementing the reverse that offers a glint of pastel rose. It is fitting that this conclusion to the business-strike Jackson Hole Morgan dollars--a memorable grouping, and an extreme privilege to catalog--should be a bit different in the series. The 1921 is technically a one-year subtype, with design changes including a lower relief, differently shaped feathers on the eagle's breast and wings, and other subtleties. The present piece--like so many others, among the handful of finest known--offers incredible eye appeal from the satiny surfaces. Population: 23 in 66, 0 finer (2/07).
