Judd-73 Restrike 1838 Half Dollar, PR621838 P50C Half Dollar, Judd-73 Restrike, Pollock-77, R.5, PR62 PCGS. The obverse, once attributed to Chief Engraver William Kneass, is more likely the work of assistant Christian Gobrecht. It depicts a large draped bust of Liberty facing left. A level flying eagle faces left, dominating the reverse. A restrike that has five different die cracks on the reverse. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Fully struck and minimally toned with pleasing frost throughout the devices. The fields exhibit faint hairlines and subdued reflectivity. (PCGS# 11288)
