Near-Gem 1850 Annular Cent Pattern, Judd-124 Restrike1850 P1C One Cent, Judd-124 Restrike, Pollock-139, Low R.7, PR64 PCGS. Small cent annular (ring-form) pattern, simply laid out with *CENT*1850 on the obverse, and on the reverse USA ONE TENTH SILVER. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge and no central perforation. The ring cent of 1850 were made in response to Congressman Sam F. Vinton of the House Ways and Means Committee, who drafted a bill in 1849 to reduce the size of the one cent piece. The surfaces are light gray with subdued underlying mint luster. The reverse shows several heavy die cracks, which indicates this piece is a restrike.(#11532) (PCGS# 11532)
