Description:
1850 Three Cent Silver Pattern, Judd-125 Original
1850 P3CS Three Cent Silver, Judd-125 Original, Pollock-147, R.4, PR 62 NGC. Radiated Liberty cap design on the obverse with a palm branch encircling the Roman numeral III in the center of the reverse. Struck in silver with a plain edge. This original example displays a blanket of slate-gray patina with freckled cobalt-blue and russet iridescence. The latter colors are largely confined to the obverse. Muted reflectivity seems to limit the grade, but the eye appeal does not suffer from this feature in the slightest. (PCGS# 11536)
