1854 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-163, Pollock-189, High R.6, PR65 Brown NGC....
Rare 1854 Pattern Large Cent With Flying Eagle Design, Judd-1631854 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-163, Pollock-189, High R.6, PR65 Brown NGC. Flying eagle design with a hook-neck eagle on the obverse, surrounded by stars and the date below. The reverse resembles the regular dies issue for the Large Cent except the wreath is much smaller and thinner. Struck in copper with a plain edge. The copper version is much rarer than its bronze counterpart (Judd-164), this being the first example we have offered. Each side is nicely reflective and unspotted. The chocolate-brown color is accented with hues of green, blue, and red as the coin is turned under a light. There are no hairlines, although some polish lines were struck into the reverse. Also, a small area of die rust is seen at the center of the reverse. Worth a close look and a strong bid.(#11674) (PCGS# 11674)
