Description:
1854 P1C One Cent, Judd-161 Original, Pollock-187, R.4, PR62 Brown PCGS. The central motif of the obverse is very similar to the Braided Hair Cent design, but the planchet is slightly smaller in diameter and no stars appear about the periphery. The laurel wreath reverse was designed by Franklin Peale. Struck in bronze with a plain edge. Glossy steely-brown surfaces have an unusual swath of light tan coloration in the upper left obverse field and adjacent border.(#11663) (PCGS# 11663)
