Description:
1854 Copper Cent, Reduced Diameter
Judd-161 Original, PR65 Brown
1854 P1C One Cent, Judd-161 Original, Pollock-187, R.4, PR65 Brown NGC. The design is similar to that on production large cents except there are no stars on the obverse, and the diameter is smaller. Struck in copper with a plain edge. Even though deeply patinated, the fields still show significant reflectivity. The obverse is peppered with numerous tiny planchet flakes. The reverse is much smoother, and the brown patina is streaked with original red over much of that side. (PCGS# 11663)
