Transitional Pattern 1858 Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-1911858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-191, Pollock-233-234, R.5, PR63 PCGS. A transitional pattern that combines the regular dies, Small Letters obverse from 1858 with the laurel wreath reverse of 1859. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. An attractive Select specimen, the orange-tan surfaces are pleasingly bright in the fields with needle sharp striking definition over the devices. Were it not for a couple of carbon flecks on the reverse and some scattered hairlines, this mostly blemish-free specimen would probably have secured a finer rating. (PCGS# 11840)
