Gem 1858 Flying Eagle Cent with Broad Shield Reverse, Judd-1931858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-193, Pollock-236, Snow-PT11, R.5, PR65 PCGS. The obverse is identical to the regular issue 1858 Small Letters cent. The reverse, while similar to that adopted for the Indian cent in 1860, displays a broad, ornamented shield at the top. Struck from slightly rotated dies in copper-nickel with a plain edge. A beautiful golden-brown Gem that has wisps of olive color in the obverse field. The strike is needle-sharp, and the surfaces are impressively undisturbed. Encapsulated in a first generation PCGS holder. Population: 8 in 65, none finer (3/04).(#11844) (PCGS# 11844)
