Description:
PR63 Judd-204 1858 Flying Eagle Cent
1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-204, Pollock-248, R.5, PR63 NGC.
Design.
The Small Flying Eagle obverse of 1858 is combined with the Oak Wreath With Shield reverse. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge.

Commentary.
Another R.5 1858 Flying Eagle cent pattern; like some others of the year, this design also saw some copper strikes, but they are rated R.8, with only a tiny handful of survivors known.

Physical Description.
The pretty golden-tan surfaces on this conservatively graded piece show a few minor, undistracting flecks along with a bold strike and lots of eye appeal. NGC Census: 8 in PR63, 17 finer. PCGS Population: 19 in PR63, 29 finer. (12/08).

Provenance.
Ex: Central States Numismatic Society Auction (RARCOA, 4/1975), lot 357.
From The Lemus Collection, Queller Family Collection Part Two.
