Scarce 1858 Indian Cent Pattern, Judd-208, Pollock-2531858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-208, Pollock-253, R.7, MS63 PCGS. An Indian Cent pattern with the adopted design of 1859, but dated a year earlier. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Judd-208 is broken into three Pollock patterns, based upon whether the date is low or centered, and whether the wreath has six or five leaves within each cluster. This variant (Pollock-253) has a low date and five leaf clusters. The surfaces on this piece are bright and very light in color with an occasional fleck of golden-rose on each side. (PCGS# 11884)
