1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-211, Pollock-255, 262, R.4, PR65 ...
Gem Proof 1858 Indian Cent Pattern, Judd-2111858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-211, Pollock-255, 262, R.4, PR65 PCGS. The obverse of this scarce pattern displays James Barton Longacre's Indian Head motif that appears on the production cent of 1859. The reverse, however, carries a thick oak wreath not unlike that which the Mint would mate with a shield for its 1860 cent delivery. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. The centered date Pollock variant of Judd-211. This is an exceptionally attractive example that has deep rose colored toning on the obverse. The reverse is light gray with a significant overtone of reddish patina. Only a couple of tiny spots of carbon are seen, both on the reverse.(#11893) (PCGS# 11893)
