Description:
1858 Indian Cent, Oak Wreath Pattern Judd-211
1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-211, Pollock-262, PR62 PCGS. Snow-PT26, R.5. The obverse of this popular pattern displays James Barton Longacre's Indian Head motif that appears on the production cent of 1859. The reverse, however, carries a thick oak wreath not unlike that which the Mint would mate with a shield for its 1860 cent production. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. The centered date Pollock variant of Judd-211. This well struck specimen is richly toned in russet, plum, rose, forest-green, and gold colors, and has a moderate mark near the D in UNITED. Certified in an old green label holder.(#11893) (PCGS# 11893)
