Paquet-Designed 1858 Quarter, Judd-221, PR631858 P25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-221, Pollock-264, High R.7, PR63 PCGS. The regular Liberty Seated quarter dollar obverse for the year. Anthony Paquet designed the reverse die for this variety, which was also used to produce the 1859 Judd-234 quarter patterns. A seemingly malformed eagle with outstretched wings displays a shield on its breast. The left claw holds three long, slender arrows while the right talons grasp an olive sprig. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / QUARTER DOLLAR surrounds the periphery. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. The devices are fully struck throughout, and the lightly hairlined surfaces are toned golden with occasional dabs of cobalt-blue at the margins. (PCGS# 11914)
