Extremely Rare 1858 Judd-221 Quarter, PR641858 P25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-221, Pollock-264, High R.7, PR64 NGC. The regular Liberty Seated quarter dollar obverse for the year. Anthony Paquet designed the reverse die for this variety, which was also used to produce the 1859 Judd-234 quarter patterns. A seemingly malformed eagle with outstretched wings displays a shield on its breast. The left claw holds three long, slender arrows while the right talons grasp an olive sprig. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / QUARTER DOLLAR surrounds the periphery. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Both sides have reflective, moderately mirrored proof surfaces beneath gold, lilac, and blue toning with splashes of iridescence. (PCGS# 11914)
