Description:
Pattern 1859 Indian Cent, Judd-226
1859 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-226, Pollock-270, R.7, PR65 PCGS. The obverse die is that used to produce regular issue 1859 Indian Cents, while the reverse displays the denomination ONE CENT within an oak wreath. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. The otherwise olive-tan surfaces yield to brighter orange-apricot undertones and modest reflectivity at direct angles. There are no ill-defined features on either side, nor can we locate a distraction other than the tiny fleck in the upper obverse field. (PCGS# 11928)
