1864 Liberty Seated Quarter with Modified Eagle, Judd-3841864 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-384, Pollock-452, R.7, PR63 PCGS. The obverse shows the Liberty Seated design used to coin regular issue 1864 quarters. The reverse displays a modified version of the eagle used on regular issue 1864 quarters with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR below. The arrows are unusually lengthy on this design, and pass over rather than under the eagle's right (facing) wingtip. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. A sharply struck and nicely preserved pearl-gray piece that can be identified in future sales by a pair of tiny mint-made planchet flaws, one near the highest arrowhead and another beneath the second A in AMERICA. A faint fingerprint fragment appears in the right obverse field from certain angles.(#60555) (PCGS# 60555)
