Description

1864 Motto Seated Half in Copper, Judd-392

1864 50C Half Dollar, Judd-392, Pollock-460, R.7, PR64 Red PCGS. This pattern pairs a regular issue Seated half obverse with a Motto Seated half reverse. Since the motto was added to circulation strikes in 1866, most pattern researchers believe that Judd-392 was struck several years after 1864. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This well struck near-Gem features radiant brick-red color, mellowed slightly to lilac or ruby in selected areas. A few small, faint obverse spots are generally limited to the borders. (PCGS# 80563)
