Description:
Copper 1865 Motto Seated Dollar
Judd-435, PR64 Brown
1865 $1 Dollar, Judd-435, Pollock-508, Low R.7, PR64 Brown PCGS. The regular issue With Motto Seated Liberty dollar design but dated one year prior to issue. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Approximately a dozen examples are believed known of this copper variant, and the design was also produced in silver and aluminum. According to USPatterns.com, these pieces were struck "circa 1869 and into the early 1870s." This brightly reflective dollar displays peach-gold and powder-blue toning on each side. The most easily identifying pedigree marker is a spot of brown color by the base of the rock at 7:30. (PCGS# 60620)
