One of Only Three Known 1865 Pattern Quarter Dollars, Judd-4241865 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-424, Pollock-496, R.8, PR 65 Brown PCGS. Ex: Eliasberg. The obverse depicts the Seated Liberty design used to coin regular issue 1865 quarters. An eagle with outstretched wings and a shield on its breast dominates the reverse. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is at the upper periphery, and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR is at the bottom. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. A golden-brown example, the surfaces are appreciably reflective with a smooth, crisply defined appearance.
