Simply Gorgeous 1868 Pattern Ten Cents, Judd-648, Struck in Copper1868 10C Ten Cents, Judd-648, Pollock-721, R.6, PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. The obverse uses the head of Liberty as seen on Braided Hair large Cents, last produced in 1857, and is mated with a reverse that reads TEN CENTS in the center, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Struck in copper with a plain edge. A gorgeous Gem, and seemingly undergraded even at the PR65 level, this coin reveals remnants of orange-red luster and delicate lavender tinged undertones beneath medium brown patina. Sharply struck throughout with nary a distracting hairline, contact mark, or carbon fleck to report. Worthy of a strong bid. (PCGS# 70866)
