Description

Colorfully Toned Quarter Dollar Pattern, PR64 Brown PCGS

1869 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-735, Pollock-816, R.7, PR64 Brown PCGS. Standard Silver design with the bust of Liberty facing right, wearing a headband with LIBERTY inscribed upon it. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounds most of the obverse margin with the motto set on a scroll below the portrait. On the reverse, 25 CENTS is centered within a wreath of oak and laurel leaves, and around the periphery is STANDARD SILVER 1869. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This pattern is often found softly struck in the centers because of die opposition. However, this piece is fully defined in all areas. Deep sea-green and brown toning covers each side of this sharp, upper-end pattern. Population: 3 in 64, 0 finer (7/04).(#60962) (NGC ID# 29SK, PCGS# 60962)
