Location: Long Beach, CA
Description:
1869 5C Five Cents, Judd-684, Pollock-763, R.5, PR63 PVC Uncertified. The obverse has a design similar to that on the Three Cent Nickel, although Liberty has a star on her coronet. The reverse has a wreath similar to that on the Three Cent Nickel, but the larger diameter affords a scroll that reads IN GOD WE TRUST. There is a large V for the denomination, similar to the much later Liberty Nickel. A well struck proof that has milky-gray patina within the central reverse. A nicely preserved example of this scarce pattern.
Ex: Cornelius Vermeule III Collection (Stack's, 11/2001), lot 616, where it realized $1,380. (PCGS# 60909)

If my clients were to auction something of significance, having Mike as the auctioneer would be a deal maker as far as I am concerned.
