Description

Beautiful Silver PR66 Cameo
1870 Quarter, Judd-882
Single Finest NGC-Certified

1870 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-882, Pollock-980, High R.7, PR66 Cameo NGC. A regular issue Motto reverse quarter is paired with a William Barber rendition of the seated Liberty. She faces left and holds an olive branch and a Federal shield. A Liberty pole appears to impale her arm. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Thickly frosted motifs rise above the untoned mirrored fields. Ruby-red toning appears now and then near the rims. A looped die scratch near star 7 is as made, and the reverse die is lightly rusted, which suggests a post-1870 production. Census: 1 in 66 Cameo, 0 finer (4/09).
