PR66 Red and Brown 1870 Quarter Judd-8841870 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-884, Pollock-982, High R.6, PR66 Red and Brown NGC. Liberty is seated left, and supports a shield with her right hand. Her left hand holds an olive branch. The obverse border has 13 stars, and the date is in the exergue. A free-standing Liberty pole is in the background, and creates the illusion of piercing her arm. The reverse is from a regular-issue Seated Liberty quarter dollar die. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Well struck and unblemished with rich copper-red, blue-green, and plum-red toning. Only a single example (graded PR66 Red) has been certified finer by either major grading service (9/07). (PCGS# 71128)
