1870 Standard Silver Quarter in Copper, Judd-8791870 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-879, Pollock-976, R.7, PR65 Red and Brown NGC. William Barber's design for the Standard Silver series featuring Liberty seated with her right hand resting on a shield and a tall Liberty pole and cap behind. The reverse is simply designed with 25 CENTS surrounded by a wreath of cotton and corn, STANDARD above. Struck in copper with a plain edge. This well struck Gem has attractive pumpkin-orange and ruby-red colors. The obverse has a couple of tiny spots, and the reverse also has an occasional hint of carbon, but the only visible striations in the field are strictly of mint origin. (#71123) (PCGS# 71123)
