A bust of Liberty faces right and is surrounded by UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. She wears a headband inscribed LIBERTY, and has a large star on her forehead. IN GOD WE TRUST is below on a banner. The reverse features 50/CENTS/1870 within a wreath of cotton and corn. STANDARD is centered above the wreath. Struck in silver with a reeded edge.
