Exceedingly Rare 1871 Pattern Indian Princess Dollar, Judd-1138A, R.81871 $1 Dollar, Judd-1138A, Pollock-1276, R.8, PR61 NGC. The obverse features Longacre's Indian Princess design surrounded by 13 stars and 13 stars on the American flag. The date, 1871 is below. the reverse depicts the regular issue die used for the Seated dollar. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. An exceedingly rare issue, currently only two have been seen by both services, combined. This piece is mostly brilliant with hints of reddish-golden patina most visible at the lower right portion of the obverse. Numerous thin hairlines are seen on the glassy fields, these being the primary grade-limiting factors. An important opportunity for the pattern collector. (PCGS# 61399)
