Richly Toned 1871 Silver Ten Cents Proof Pattern1871 10C Ten Cents, Judd-1084, Pollock-1220, R.7, PR64 NGC. On the obverse, Liberty is seated facing left with the date 1871 below. She is wearing an Indian headdress and supporting a liberty pole with her right hand. Her left hand rests on a globe inscribed LIBERTY. Thirteen stars decorate the periphery. The reverse design is the same type used to coin regular issue 1871 seated dimes. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. The present example is fully detailed and seems free of contact marks. Both sides display a deep coating of rich, variegated aqua and gray patina, with mild reflectivity in the fields. Population: 1 in 64, 2 finer (7/03).(#61343) (PCGS# 61343)
