1871 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-1096, Pollock-...
1871 Indian Princess Quarter Dollar Pattern, Judd-10961871 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-1096, Pollock-1232, R.6-7, PR66 PCGS. Ex: Bass. The Longacre Seated design that features an Indian princess representing Liberty, hand resting on a globe, the other hand holds a Liberty pole with cap on top, and flags behind. The reverse has 25 CENTS as the central device, surrounded by a wreath of cotton and corn, and the word STANDARD at the top of that side. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Deeply reflective on each side with lovely rose colored toning around the obverse margin and multicolored iridescence around the reverse. Even though mostly toned, thick mint frost is evident over the devices on each side. An outstanding, high grade example.
Purchased by Harry Bass from Stanley Kesselman, November 11, 1971; Bass I (Bowers and Merena, 5/99), lot 1139. (PCGS# 61355)
