1871 Five Cent Pattern, Judd-1054, PR64 Red and Brown1871 5C Five Cents, Judd-1054, Pollock-1189, R.6, PR64 Red and Brown PCGS. The obverse is similar to the adopted three cent nickel design, while the reverse has 5 CENTS in the center and is surrounded by a laurel wreath. Struck in copper with a plain edge. A relatively common pattern, this piece retains nearly full mint red color with just a hint of mellowing on each side. The fields are deeply reflective and the surfaces are generally problem-free.
