Description:
Pattern 1871 Half Dime, Judd-1069
1871 H10C Half Dime, Judd-1069, Pollock-1205, R.7, PR 65 Brown NGC. A seated figure of Liberty facing left dominates the obverse. Liberty wears an Indian headdress and supports a pole with a pileus cap in her left (facing) hand. Her right (facing) hand rests on a globe over which a ribbon inscribed with LIBERTY is draped. An arc of thirteen stars hugs the border and the date is below. The reverse is the same that was used to coin business strike 1871 half dimes. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Deeply colored, yet original, both sides display competing swirls of copper-brown and steel-blue hues. Sharply struck, as expected, with no distracting blemishes. (PCGS# 61328)
