Rare 1873 Quarter Dollar Copper Pattern, Judd-12701873 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-1270, Pollock-1412, R.7, PR64 Red and Brown PCGS. The obverse and reverse design is the same as that used to coin regular issue Closed-3, No Arrows type 1873 quarter dollars. Struck from copper with a reeded edge. This example seems fully detailed, with appealing red-orange and brown surfaces that are free from contact or handling marks. A few small carbon spots are seen on the obverse, and the reverse displays a small, interesting die crack (as struck) which extends from the eagle's left (facing) wing onto the shield. The only specimen of this variety to be graded by PCGS. Population: 1 in 64, 0 finer (10/03). (#71555) (PCGS# 71555)
