Description

1874 Arrows Ten Cents in Copper, Judd-1352

1874 Arrows Ten Cents, Judd-1352, Pollock-1496, R.7, PR 62 Red PCGS. The regular dies issue of 1874, struck in copper with a reeded edge, and struck from the same reverse die as are all the other regular reverse patterns, 1864-1874, in this sale. Once thoroughly cleaned, leaving the surfaces with a pale golden-red color and myriad hairlines. It's a safe bet that this is the Farouk specimen, as alleged by the consignor.
From the Gene Wolfe Collection of Pattern Coinage. (NGC ID# 2A9V, PCGS# 81656)
