Finest Known 1875 Pattern Twenty Cent Piece, Judd-14031875 20C Twenty Cents, Judd-1403, Pollock-1546, High R.6, PR66 NGC. Liberty is seen on the obverse resting upon a globe with the word LIBERTY on it. Holding a small branch, Liberty is facing out to sea with a steam ship in the distance. The design is encompassed by thirteen stars and the date rests below it. A laurel wreath wraps 20 CENTS into the design on the reverse. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA also adorn the reverse periphery. Struck in silver with a plain edge. The deep original toning overlays each side in a somewhat mottled fashion. Colors of cobalt-blue and crimson intermingle overall. The eye appeal is exceptional, due in part to the intriguing and impressive design. An interesting and seldom-offered pattern, this is the single finest example thus far certified by either service (12/05). (PCGS# 61710)
