Description:
1878 $1 Dollar, Judd-1554, Pollock-1733, 1737, 1741, R.6-7, PR40 NGC. The obverse design by William Barber features a portrait of Liberty facing left, surrounded by stars, the date, and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse has a standing eagle with raised wings and E PLURIBUS UNUM in gothic lettering. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Lightly toned with even wear over the highpoints and no obvious abrasions on either side, indicating this piece was probably carried for several years as a pocket piece. (PCGS# 61915)
