William Barber's Metric dollar with Liberty wearing a coronet with a border of pearls. The reverse is elaborately laid out with a partial wreath of cotton and corn tied at the base, a ribbon, and with DEO EST GLORIA on a tablet above. Struck in goloid or silver with a reeded edge. The exact composition of these pieces is uncertain as they have never undergone metallurgical testing, according to the USPatterns.com website. This is a splendid Cameo proof with pale champagne and iridescent toning over mirrored fields and lustrous devices. Metric dollars are seldom found with this degree of eye appeal. Most have been cleaned or otherwise mistreated. Few finer examples of this issue have been certified, despite its status as a relatively plentiful pattern issue. (PCGS# 61995)
