Gorgeous Washlady Quarter in Silver, Judd-15901879 25C Washlady Quarter Dollar, Judd-1590, Pollock-1783, R.6, PR68 NGC. Barber's "Washlady" design. The head of Liberty faces left with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST above and 1879 below. She is wearing a headband inscribed LIBERTY. The headband is ornamented with ears of wheat, cotton leaves, and bolls. There are 13 stars at the border arranged 7 left and 6 right. This is paired with a reverse that has an erect eagle with spread wings holding an olive branch in its right talon and three arrows in its left. Above is the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, below is the denomination QUAR. DOLLAR. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. This is a phenomenal pattern. The surfaces are virtually perfect and the fields show depth of mirrored reflectivity that is comparable to any regular issue proof coin of the era; that is to say, simply unfathomable "black" mirrors. The devices are heavily frosted also, which of course, gives the coin a strong cameo contrast. A few dabs of golden color are seen on each side and roller marks are present on the face of Liberty.
