Description

Premium Gem 1927 Peace Dollar
Among the Finest Certified Examples

1927 $1 MS66 PCGS. From a small mintage of 848,000 pieces, the 1927 Peace dollar is one of the rarest Philadelphia issues of the series in Mint State condition. Roger Burdette observes, "In MS-64 and higher, it is in the top seven for rarity in the entire series." Burdette further suggests, "The issue is much undervalued in these grades." No examples have been certified above the Premium Gem level at either of the leading grading services (3/11).
The present coin displays vibrant mint luster and mostly brilliant surfaces, with the slightest hint of gold toning. The design elements are sharply detailed, with fine definition on Liberty's hair. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 7 in 66, 0 finer (3/11).
